The World Bank has expressed concern over the slow progress made on the simplification and automation of key business processes for tax administration and enhanced capacity for generating revenue from real estate in Punjab. The bank’s report on the Punjab Resource Improvement and Digital Effectiveness (PRIDE) Program, which has an overall allocation of $304 million, aims to improve the reliability of resource allocation and increase access to digital services for people and firms in the province of Punjab. The program focuses on strengthening budget formulation and fiscal risk management, increasing the use of digital technology for delivering selected public services, and improving the collection of own source revenue (OSR).
